商品の詳細

An extensive collection of 29 19th-century Masonic publications from the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Ohio, dating from 1857 through 1888. These volumes document annual proceedings, officers, lodge activities, resolutions, and the development of Ohio Freemasonry during the Civil War and post-Civil War era. Of particular importance, the 1857 volume retains its original presentation label identifying Lockbourne Lodge No. 232 and John D. Caldwell, Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Ohio. Caldwell was a prominent figure in 19th-century Ohio Freemasonry who served for many years as Grand Secretary in Cincinnati. His direct association with the presentation label gives this volume particularly meaningful period Masonic provenance. This is a substantial historical archive spanning approximately three decades of Ohio Freemasonry. Also included is an 1861 Masonic Constitutions volume containing the Charges of a Free-Mason, constitution, by-laws, rules, Masonic jurisprudence, funeral service, installation ceremonies, and other formulas. These are original 19th-century Masonic publications, many retaining their early paper wrappers and period inscriptions. Condition varies considerably throughout the collection, with staining, discoloration, writing, tears, edge wear, losses, and deterioration to some wrappers. The 1882 volume has particularly substantial cover loss. Your items will be carefully packaged to ensure they arrive safely. Please review all photographs, as they are considered part of the description and show the exact contents and condition of the lot.
