Bulova Accutron 214, 34mm stainless steel, case back date code M6 (1966) The 214 was the first Accutron and the first wristwatch built without a balance wheel. A tuning fork vibrating at 360Hz drives the train, the seconds hand glides instead of stepping, and the watch hums rather than ticks. It is also the crownless one: there is no crown on the case side, and the hands are set through the back of the case.
