This is a wonderful vintage Esquire Shoe Care Chest, dating to approximately the 1950s. Similar Esquire chests from this period were made in the USA and designed as complete home shoe-shine stations. The wooden chest features the original “ESQUIRE Shoe Care Chest” graphic on the front, dovetail/finger-jointed construction, brass-tone hardware, and a built-in wooden shoe-shaped footrest on top. The hinged chest opens to reveal divided storage for shoe polish, brushes, cloths, and other shoe-care supplies. Your piece also includes shoe brushes inside, which adds to its appeal. The worn finish, scratches, patina, and faded graphics give it great authentic character rather than hurting the primitive/vintage look.
