There is a crack, which can be seen in the photographs. I cannot feel it on the backside. The shell is not at risk of crumbling firmly in place. The person from whom I bought her said she had tried to find her home for a while, but she was unable. She said she was considering removing the silver for melt. I couldn’t leave her: hopefully, someone will love her in spite of her flaw or maybe for it. The carving is exquisite. She is a very lovely lady who has more life to live.
