If you’ve done a thousand breaks, or if you downloaded WhatNot an hour ago and you’re trying to figure out what “PYT” means, you get treated the same. I find this extremely endearing, honestly. (You’ve got to be of a certain age here.) You remember how they’d film scenes with guys just hanging out in a hardware store? Not buying anything, just standing around and talking? When I was a kid, that made no sense. Now that I’m an adult, it makes perfect sense. What am I gonna do, go to a bar and hang out? Eat wings and get yelled at by a buffalo? I’m a grown man, not a college student.
The Pine Tree Sports streams feel like hanging out at the hardware store. Most streams feel like getting yelled at by carnies on the midway. These feel like dropping in to get some bolts. Maybe some paint. Grab a bag of popcorn. (Why does a hardware store have popcorn? I don’t know either, but they do.) I keep coming back and will keep coming back, not only for the hockey cards, but for the hangout.
