My family grew up poor so my parents weren't able to afford buying me any Pokémon cards or booster packs to open. I received free cards from cousins and friends. I eventually stopped collecting in the year 2000 and gave my collection to my nephew. Fast forward to 03/14/2026. I ordered the Charmander promotion that had 3 packs of Ascended Heroes online on Walmart for $30 to relive a part of my childhood I didn't get to. It arrived and it had looked to have been opened carefully and glued back together and that disappointed me but I still opened. Nothing good pulled from the fir 2 packs. Opening the 3rd pack with disappointment, I pulled a Mega Dragonite EX SIR 290/217. Now here I am starting my new collection in 2026 after almost 30 years.
