Product Details

Fine porcelain small footed vase with double gilt scroll handles and a ruffled scalloped gilt-edged rim with hand-painted scene of palm trees, distant hills, water, and small purple wildflowers in a soft pastel palette (blue-green sky fading to blush), with two birds in flight. This also has green "M in Wreath" backstamp with "Hand Painted / Nippon" which was used by Morimura Brothers (the trading company that later became Noritake) specifically on pieces made for the U.S. export market between 1911 and 1921. It's one of the most recognized and trusted Nippon-era marks.
