The gold rutiles in this quarts are amazing. When lava degases it created bubbles or vugs and pegmatites which form large crystals at the end-stage of cooling. One of the theories is that quartz permeates a vug and then the rutile precipitates and grows within the stone as it cools. I used sterling silver wire to wrap this polished quartz stone. I did 3 different types of weaving to create the elegant frame around the quartz. Dimensions: 1.75” Tall .75” Wide .25” Thick Weight: 6.5 Grams
