Product Details

1861 Civil War Railroad Currency. This rare note from the Civil War era was produced by The Southern Railroad Company out of Vicksburg, Mississippi, December 26th, 1861, in the amount of $2. During that time, it was common for paper to be reused for multiple purposes. In this case, the railroad currency was stamped over the top of an even older "One Hundred Dollars Shares Each" note. It is signed by the secretary and president of the company and features multiple stamps and signatures. This note is number #2966. These are very rare compared to other railroad currency notes! Own a piece of history! All notes come in sleeves and safe packaging.
