About four years ago, I started building a brand for fathers called Dad Mob by Fatherhood Mafia. I created the LLC, opened bank accounts, built the website, and designed everything from scratch. I shared a sneak peek on Instagram while I was still finalizing everything, someone saw it, rushed to trademark the name, and STOLE the entire brand before I could launch. I wasn’t just making a hat I was creating what I believed would be the ultimate dad hat. I designed a vintage baseball-style fit with puff embroidery on the front, a circular logo on the side, full embroidery on the back, custom inner lining, branded tag, and a suede brim. I put my heart and soul into this. After telling this story on my first Whatnot show, the amount of support I received was overwhelming. It reminded me why I started creating in the first place. So now, I’m adding this concept to my shop in hopes of finally sharing my vision with the people who believed in it.
