Rare piece by Janice Girardi. It was part of her Gold on Silver series, where she carved designs out of thick 22k gold plates and heat-welded them flush to her sterling pieces in place of what was normally a sterling decoration. She is famous for bringing styles from Bali & the surrounding area to the US. It features a lovely large garnet between two 22k gold feathers / leaves. To be clear, this is not vermeil, plated, or gold filled. The gold portion is a solid sheet of gold welded onto the cuff and has hallmarks to denote this.
