Hand-painted Royal Doulton character jug (also known as a Toby mug) depicting Porthos, one of the Three Musketeers. Glossy ceramic finish with rich crimson tunic, plumed hat, and sword-shaped handle. Marked on base: “Porthos (One of the ‘Three Musketeers’) D6453, COPR 1955, Doulton & Co. Limited.” Excellent vintage condition with light wear and no visible chips or cracks. History/Use: Royal Doulton began producing character and Toby jugs in the 1930s, becoming famous for their expressive, hand-painted faces based on literary and historical figures.
