Major League is a 1989 comedy about a ragtag team of misfit baseball players for the Cleveland Indians who, against their new owner's attempts to make them lose, rally to become a winning team. The team is assembled by the new owner, an ex-showgirl who wants to move the team to Miami; her plan is to field the worst possible players to ensure low attendance and break their lease, but her villainous plot backfires. The team's unlikely success comes through the help of players like the washed-up catcher Jake Taylor (Tom Berenger), a wild but fast pitcher named Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn (Charlie Sheen), and the speedy Willie Mays Hayes (Wesley Snipes).
