1a) 18" tall x 12" wide. 1960's - 70's. Produced by companies such as the Kage Company from the early 1950s until the closed on 2008. It was first invented accidentally from the daughter of Frank Gerstein, owner of the Kage Company in Manchester, Conn, when she stayed home from school and started arranging the polystyrene into shapes and placed them in the oven. The plastic expanded to resemble a popcorn effect. By 1950 through the 70's the popularity soared. During that time they were originally call "Glitter Plaques." By 2008, the company stopped making the art. This piece is in great condition.
