This is a carved figurine of an owl made from Yooperlite. Weighing in at 4 lbs., and measuring 6 inches tall. Yooperlite is a type of syenite rock rich in fluorescent sodalite that glows under a long-wave ultraviolet light. The stone is found on the shores of Lake Superior in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The name "Yooperlite" is a portmanteau of "Yooper," a nickname for people from the Upper Peninsula, and "lite". The owl is a symbol of wisdom and intuition.
