Emperor: Julian II (361-363 AD). Surviving the massacre of the princes by his nephews in 336 A.D. he was one of the few male relatives of Constantine I left alive. He notably is the only prince who held onto the pagan faith even being initiated into the infamous cult of the Eleusinian Mysteries. For a brief period of time he rebuilt and attempted to revive the original pagan religion of Romes past. He was killed by an enemy spear during his invasion of the Sassanian (Persian) empire.
