Product Details

Magnificent French Barbotine vase attributed to Choisy-le-Roi (H. Boulenger & Cie), circa 1880–1890. Mounted in finely cast gilt bronze, it features griffin-dragon handles and satyr-mask feet, symbols of strength and vitality in Belle Époque design. The hand-painted floral enamel glows in layered shades of rose, gold, and chestnut over a lustrous glaze, epitomizing the opulent transition from Neo-Rococo to Art Nouveau. The ormolu mounts retain their original patina, framing the artistry like jewelry for the table. Excellent antique condition with expected age wear and no structural damage. Marked underside with impressed 350 and decorator’s 191. A rare museum-quality showpiece of 19th-century French craftsmanship and mythological imagination—commanding from every angle. 9 in H × 8 in W, 2.09 lb.
