It depicts the Annunciation—the announcement made by the archangel Gabriel to Mary that she would conceive and bear Jesus Christ. Gabriel is depicted as particularly youthful, with a tall slender Mary—standing behind a small lectern. This is from an estate. The owner traveled often to Europe and most likely brought this back with her in the 1970's or 80's It's in fantastic vintage condition! I know it's very valuable but I can't find an exact likeness of it so I am going to start the auction much lower than true value. The panel itself measures approximately 52 and 1/2 inches long by 16 and 1/4 inches wide. The original wooden hanger that comes with it.
