Product Details

Georgian (1714-1837) Mourning Brooch which has a central baroque pearl to represent an urn, it is surrounded by an enamel halo with the words souvenir toujours cher “Remember always dear” written in raised gold lettering on a white enamel background. In Georgian jewelry white enamel signified innocence, purity, and youth, typically used for children or unmarried women. The background is braided hair and is covered in domed clear glass. It is surrounded by natural pearls and set in at least 10k gold. 2 very tiny pearls have shifted in position, which is very common in jewelry of this era.
