Obverse: Features classic Dakota frontier imagery including a covered wagon, oxen team, pioneer figures, and Mount Rushmore likenesses, with the inscription “Dakota Territory – Centennial 1861–1961.” Reverse: Reads “Good for 50¢ in Trade”, redeemable at participating businesses, issued by South Dakota Souvenir Coin Co., Sioux Falls, S.D., dated 1961.
