AGATIZED CORAL FOSSIL GEODE These are approximately larger than 6” in size. These are primarily found in Florida. Notable locations include the Tampa Bay, Withlacoochee, Suwannee, and Econfina rivers. Formed when ancient coral skeletons were gradually replaced by silica-rich minerals, predominantly chalcedony. They are millions of years old from the Oligocene-Miocene period. Interiors may be solid agate or hollow featuring botryoidal formations. In some cases, it may even have druzy pockets. These can feature stunning colors such as blue, black, orange, yellows, white, or a rainbow(multitude of colors). However, please note that not every specimen will be the same, and some pieces may lack prominent features or colors. These can be fluorescent to varying degrees under a UV light!
