An extraordinarily rare snake head preserved in 110 million year old amber from the Cretaceous of Myanmar (formerly Burma)!! There have been VERY few reptile fossils found in Myanmar amber, and as far as I know, only 3 snakes ever recovered, this one included! One snake was very well preserved, complete and thoroughly studied using computer aided tomography. One other was possibly a snake, possibly part of the head, that sold on another online marketplace for an obscene price. Though likely from a snake, It however lacked any clearly defined features that would properly identify it as being a head. This specimen is unique in that with simple backlighting you can easily make out parts of the skull, vertebrae, shales, jaw, eyes, and more! I’ve found it quite difficult to determine a fair price for this specimen, but I am told that vertebrates of this caliber can go into the tens of thousands of dollars! I’ve contemplated listing this elsewhere, but here it is!!
