antique player piano music roll, specifically "La Mignonette" Valse Elegante by Wm. K. Bassford. It was manufactured by the Autopiano Player company, based in Worcester, Mass. The roll is an early music storage medium with perforations that trigger notes when it passes over a player piano's tracker bar. There is a small tear where you pull the roll.
