Product Details

Yuengling, America's oldest brewery, started in 1829 in Pottsville Pennsylvania. In 1920, during Prohibition, they started making ice cream to support the brewery. In 1928, Yuengling made baseball cards, distributing them with their ice cream to boost sales. They featured players like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, similar to other regional companies like Tharp's and Harrington's. For sale is a Yuengling’s Ice Cream Card from 1928. It is graded by Beckett at a 1.5. The slab itself is slightly damaged on the side, but the card is still preserved inside. This is the only 1928 Yuengling Joe Dugan card currently graded by Beckett. Joseph Anthony Dugan (May 12, 1897 – July 7, 1982), nicknamed "Jumping Joe", was considered one of the best defensive third basemen of his era. He played as a shortstop and third baseman from 1917 through 1931, most notably for the Philadelphia Athletics and New York Yankees. He is a 3 time World Series Champion.
