Vintage mid-century black velvet tilt hat featuring a low-profile sculptural silhouette accented with decorative feather trim. Designed with original interior velvet head grips to help secure the hat when worn, a common feature of cocktail and evening hats from the 1950s–early 1960s. The feather bundle is wrapped with brown binding thread, adding texture and movement typical of period millinery. Interior retains original department-store labels, reflecting quality mid-century construction. Condition: AS IS. Age-related wear is present. Some feather tips show breakage and light fraying, and portions of the brown binding thread are visible where wrapped. There is wear to the velvet along the edge; this is less noticeable when worn or viewed from the front. The hat remains structurally intact and displays well overall.
