A rare mid-century treasure with undeniable history. A stunning, elongated 'East-West' silhouette box clutch from Tano of Madrid. Purchased btwn 1962-64 in Germany by my grandmother, a U.S. Army wife, this bag was a wardrobe staple of hers while my grandfather served at the Pentagon under Presidents Nixon and Ford in the 70's. Condition Details: ​Leather: The white leather is in remarkable, supple condition for being over 60 years old. Recently cleaned and conditioned with Apple Leather Care. ​Hardware: Heavy 24kt gold overlay coil handle. The signature gold-tone coil handle shows slight authentic vintage patina, including surface scratching and light tarnishing on the exterior (see close-up photos). This wear is consistent with its age and history of use. Dimensions: ~12.75" L x 6.5" H. ​Versatility: Includes internal gold loops for a detachable chain. (It was not bought with a chain at the time of purchase but can be added easily!)
