‘Ghostly’ Butterfly Frame 🖤👻 A 5x7 shadowbox inspired by the spiritualism movement, featuring butterfly wings, and Tim Holtz ephemera that I had laying around. As I made this piece, I felt that it began to unravel a story. I had no vision prior to making this piece. The story that came along seemed to be about a man who had lost his wife, desperate to contact her through the method of a seance. Did she truly come through the spiritual veil or was it his own delusion? I typically only work with authentic antique and vintage ephemera in my pieces, but I wanted to create a more affordable piece for those that don’t mind mixing modern day pieces with their antique collection. I know frames can be expensive as well, so I wanted to make a lower cost option!
