Product Details

This is a 1943-S United States Mercury dime, graded as Very Fine (VF). The coin is a ten-cent piece, officially called the "Winged Liberty Head dime," but commonly known as the Mercury dime because the obverse (front) design resembles the Roman god Mercury. It was designed by Adolph Weinman and minted from late 1916 to 1945. The 'S' mintmark (visible on the reverse to the right of "ONE DIME") indicates it was minted in San Francisco. The coin is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. The grade "VF" (Very Fine) is a common grade for this specific year and mint mark, indicating moderate wear on the high points of the design.
