Caldwell, TX- Burleson County $2 Nov. 1, 1862 Medlar 3 PMG Choice Fine 15. Receivable for all county dues and taxes, this $2 depicts a printer setting type at left and has a red 2-TWO-2 protector across the face with a yellow / gold TEXAS decorative back. It was receivable for all county taxes and dues. Our current offering is the plate note on page 36 of Texas Obsolete Notes and Scrip by Bob Medlar. PMG mentions a repair in the bottom margin. We are aware of three examples at present, one of which is in The Rowe-Barr Collection at the DeGolyer Library-SMU. This note served as the plate note in Medlar's 1968 Texas catalog.
