One owner The lone goblet, handsome and of obvious weight and value, sits amidst a grouping of roses. I use the term " grouping " lightly" for do they not seem tossed there casually? I feel a sense of solitude in the painting, but not one forlorn or lonely. It is a celebration of the individual able to stand alone and without apology. Able to enjoy the roses life offers and to shine. I find much comfort in its symbolism.
