Product Details

Early 20th century Japanese Nippon porcelain biscuit jar marked with the green M in Wreath stamp, dating to approximately 1911 to 1921. This piece features a squash form body resting on three gold gilded feet with an arched open handle on the matching lid. Hand painted with rich purple plums, white and pink blossoms, and soft sage leaves over a warm ivory to beige ombré ground. Marked Hand Painted Nippon with the Morimura M in Wreath export mark. Height with lid approximately 8.5 inches. Width approximately 6.5 inches. Excellent antique condition. No chips or cracks. Light, age appropriate wear to the gold. Artwork remains vibrant and clear.
