Uncirculated 1909 VDB wheat cent in red-brown (minimum 5% red) The initials of Victor David Brenner were initially included on the Wheat cent design to give him kudos for his design. The public, however, was not happy with initials being on a US coin and demanded them to be removed. Because of the outcry, only part of the 1909 production carries a VDB, making it far rarer.
