Made from (presumably) black walnut wood, this is a vintage mid-20th century Gladmark (of Burbank, California) charger that can be used as a decorative plate for displaying jewelry, ephemera, perfume bottles, or whatnot, yet is perfectly safe for serving dry snack foods, albeit preferably on a plate to protect the surface from getting scratched by knives or other utensils. The platter measures 12" x 12" x 1" and has a carved circular insert that measures approximately 9" in diameter. While we presume the wood to be black walnut, it may also be teak as Gladmark most commonly used these two types of wood in their products. One charger has a black, circular ring in the center - possibly due to light burning from a hot plate. Color may differ slightly from photos due to differences in viewing devices.
