Product Details

Victorian majolica-style pitcher featuring a children / pastoral relief scene, and the mark on the bottom appears to read “SRD” or “SJR D” — which strongly suggests late 19th to early 20th century European majolica, most likely English or French. Age Estimate- Circa: 1890–1910 (most likely) • Style: Victorian Majolica (raised molded decoration, glossy glaze, naturalistic colors) • Subject: Children playing under a tree (very popular 1880–1910 motif) • Glaze: Rich emerald green base with lighter hand-painted relief • Handle: Twig / branch form — another classic Victorian majolica feature • Base: Three stilt marks (from kiln firing) — typical of majolica production
