I am a retired watchmaker jeweler and jewelry store owner (2015) I sell gemstones and some jewelry at events and craft fairs . I am a cutter of stones but very selective in the material I choose to facet . I also collect all over the south east USA and sometimes get a bit further west . I purchase my stones from many sources including miners and other retired jewelers . I have some old mined (70’s-90’s ) rough and 10-20,000 cts of faceted and cabochon material. Still negotiation with sources for more of that good old clean sourced gems . I use my 30 years of experience and the top testing equipment to be sure of what I am selling . Any scarce material will be GIA certified before sale to be sure it’s what I say it is.
