Design: These jars feature a "lightning closure" or wire bail design, consisting of an integrated glass lid secured by a metal wire fastener. Manufacturer: They were manufactured by the Hazel-Atlas Glass Company, which was formed in 1902. Dating: Jars with this full wire bail closure generally date from approximately 1920 through the 1930s. By the late 1930s, the company shifted to a "dimple" design for securing the wires.
