Product Details

This document contains original handwritten entries in a stock transfer ledger for the New York Central Rail-Road Company from the 1860s. These ledger pages were used to record the assignment and transfer of capital stock shares between individuals and firms. The New York Central Railroad was officially formed on May 17, 1853, through a series of mergers organized by Erastus Corning to connect Albany and Buffalo. By the late 1860s, Cornelius Vanderbilt acquired control of the company, further expanding it through mergers with his other rail lines. Historical Significance With original print and signatures, these are highly collectible. Papers are delicate and aged.
