Size: 3 to 6 inches (sizes vary) Strawberry quartz is a variety of quartz, a silicon dioxide mineral, containing visible mineral inclusions. It forms in igneous environments as silica-rich fluids crystallize and trap other minerals during growth. Its red to pink coloration is caused by inclusions of hematite and mica distributed throughout the quartz. These bookends typically show a granular to translucent structure with sparkling inclusions and a polished face contrasted by a natural outer surface.
