It forms in metamorphic rocks as aluminum in muscovite is partially replaced by chromium during mineral alteration. Its green color is caused by chromium within the crystal structure. These specimens typically display a layered, flaky structure with a reflective or slightly sparkling surface, often mounted on a metal stand for display. Each item is unique in shape, color, and pattern. Higher-grade pieces are selected first. Photos represent overall quality and appearance.
