Product Details
Item shown in screen - Bred by Dr. John Cho in Hawaii, 'Waikiki' is famous for its early-developing, high-contrast variegation. Its large, glossy, deep-green leaves feature a bright creamy-white central blaze highlighted by vivid flamingo-pink veins, all held up by dramatic, deep burgundy stems. Unlike older variegated elephant ears that require maturity to color up, 'Waikiki' shows off its spectacular tri-color patterns when the plant is still quite young. Size: It has a highly compact, tidy, and sturdy clumping habit, maturing at a manageable 3 feet tall and 3 feet wide. This makes it far more wind-resistant than giant elephant ear varieties. Light: Thrives in full sun to partial shade. In highly humid areas, full sun brings out the most intense pink and white contrast. Water: High water needs. It loves consistently wet, rich soil and functions beautifully at the soggy edges of a pond or water garden
