Crocoite is one of the most vibrant minerals on Earth, its color comes from lead chromate, the same chemistry behind historic pigments like chrome orange. The Red Lead Mine is world-famous, producing some of the finest specimens ever found, and material like this doesn’t come out often anymore. ✨ Fun fact: Crocoite crystals can glow almost internally in the right light due to their high luster and transparency — photos never quite do them justice. ⚠️ Note: Contains lead — best as a display piece, wash hands after handling.
