Product Details

This coin is a valuable specimen, composed of 90% gold and 10% copper. The gold weight is 0.12094 troy ounces. The test cut that gave it its details grade is a tiny nick under the Right holder arm on the obverse, not distracting from the visual appeal as most cuts would. Based on my experience with grading, this appears to be a MS61- not a heavily dinged up example of an uncirculated coin but with a slightly weaker strike than higher MS grades. PCGS survival estimates for this coin total to a mere 550 (most destroyed during the infamous 1933 gold confiscation), and only 250 uncirculated coins- making this a highly uncommon coin to possess. Premiums on pre-1933 gold US coinage have been driven to historical lows by gold skyrocketing, making this coin an excellent peice of history to own and enjoy. In MS61, Greysheet retail puts this coin at a $1100, what a dealer should ask. I can provide more information upon request. I am willing to consider offers. Thank you!
