It forms as magma cools and crystallizes in silica-poor environments. Its deep blue color is caused by the presence of sulfur within the crystal structure, often accompanied by white calcite inclusions. These specimens typically display a massive structure with mottled blue and white patterns, and are mounted on a metal stand to highlight the natural formation.
