Pretties by Scott Westerfeld is the second installment in the Uglies trilogy, following Tally Youngblood after she undergoes mandatory surgery to become a "Pretty". Living in New Pretty Town, she enjoys a life of mindless parties until memories of her past and a message from the rebels cause her to take a pill that clears the brain lesions that make Pretties vapid. She escapes to join the rebels, but faces challenges, including the "Specials" tracking her down.
