Product Details
One-of-a-kind natural black mica. You will receive a piece similar to those shown. Size: 3 to 4 inches tall (sizes vary) Black mica, commonly known as biotite, is a silicate mineral composed of potassium, iron, magnesium, aluminum, and silica. It forms in igneous and metamorphic rocks as minerals crystallize under high-temperature, high-pressure conditions. Its dark black to deep green color comes from high concentrations of iron and magnesium within its structure. Black mica typically occurs in thin, flexible sheet-like layers with a reflective or pearly luster and perfect basal cleavage. It is commonly found as a component of larger rock formations and is used in geological studies and mineral collections. Each item is unique in shape, color, and pattern. Higher-grade pieces are selected first. Photos represent overall quality and appearance.
