Product Details

Made in Moscow in the 1960s. One tiny piece of the tag remains and reads “Moscow” in Russian. Chub (Choub) is a wealthy Ukrainian Cossack character in the Nicola Gogol story called Christmas Eve. There are strings attached to each hand and foot on the inside of the dolls clothes, which I think are meant to attach to longer strings to be used as a marionette puppet.
