Product Details

A large size excavated (dug up) Civil War iron canister shot fired out of a cannon. These canister shot, similar to grape shot, were packed in a tin sleeve with a wooden cup on the bottom. When fired, 20-30 of these balls would turn the cannon into essentially a large shotgun. These were used by both sides during the Civil War against close range advancing enemy Infantry. The effects of canister shot was nothing short of devastating. It is about golf ball sized and has already been cleaned to remove rust, and is ready for display. I have several available!
