The work is part of a series of hand-colored aquatint engravings created in the early 1800s. The series humorously portrays bachelor fox hunters, accompanied by the Bachelor's Hall poem. This was created sometime between 1835 and 1860. Aquatints are a type of print characterized by tonal variations that resemble watercolor washes, created through a specialized etching process.
