Product Details

This beautiful miniature bud vase is a genuine piece of history, bearing the "Made in Occupied Japan" stamp on the base. This mark was only used during the Allied occupation following WWII, specifically between 1945 and 1952, making this a confirmed 70+ year-old antique. Artistry & Design: • Style: Features a classic "Satsuma-style" depiction of a Geisha in a lush garden setting. • Technique: Decorated with Moriage (raised/textured clay) detailing on the kimono and floral accents, giving the piece a distinct 3D feel. • Colors: Vibrant reds and yellows with heavy gold-gilded accents on the rim and highlights. Condition: • Excellent Vintage Condition: No chips, cracks, or "spidering" in the porcelain.  • Paint/Gilding: The gold trim around the rim and base is remarkably well-preserved with very little "rub" wear. • Marking: The "Occupied Japan" stamp is clear and legible on the bottom. Approximately 4 inches tall
