“There’s no denying the cultural impact of Haight-Ashbury. The styles of the ‘60s and ‘70s seemed to hit peak there,” says Deon Point, Concepts Creative Director. “With the ‘Far Out,’ we’re able to showcase the furthest reach of our imagination too.” Like the prior Concepts x Nike Air Max 1, the “Far Out” also includes patterned elements of bandanna, cowhide, and woven material panels. The former, a Concepts-exclusive, approximates the famous guitar straps employed by festival performers. Further details include a lateral striped Swoosh and a medial “flower power” Swoosh. The tongue label revives a classic ‘70s Nike logo and twists it with a Concepts “hippie” word mark. The shoe also features a custom footbed. As a bonus, the packaging the “Far Out” gets a fully custom psychedelic print (produced in a secondary pink exclusive to in-store raffle winners), complete with a poncho, double album-styled mini record coasters, bandana and sticker pack.
